Website Design
Websites should help companies and organizations get closer to their goals. The first thing to decide before redesigning a page or full website is what you want to accomplish with it. That may be to sell products or acquire leads. Maybe your goal is to grow an audience or sell ad space. Once your goals are clear, building your website is like constructing a precise tool that turns the gears that fulfill your aim.
I've been designing and building websites professionally for over 20 years. Sometimes as a freelance designer, other times as an in-house designer. During this time I have worked with small mom and pop shops as well as international large brands. Throughout these experiences I have begun to understand that people want a site that not only looks nice, but more importantly helps them achieve their dream for their brand, organization or project.
Responsive For All Devices
In today's internet environment it doesn't make sense to have a desktop-only website. Over half of all internet use is on a mobile device and is expected to grow even more in the coming years. I design sites with a mobile-first approach that allows it to flourish for years to come as mobile use grows even more.
Analytics & Measurement
A website should be built with clear goals in mind. During the design process, considerations can be made around these goals. After the design is up and running live, measuring key interactions with site-analytics can shed light on whether the site's goals are being reached. As a Google Analytics certified designer I can help you decide which goals are best for your site and measure it's performance once it's running.
Experience
Even though I've been designing websites for more thank half of my life, I would say the biggest asset is my enthusiasm for helping people bring their ideas to reality. I genuinely care about the people I work with, that could be a client, employer or a teammate on a project. My design process is more like a conversation than a grand reveal. And while I sometimes defend a design position I believe in, I am always excited to hear alternative solution that may be better.
I have worked on many different kinds of projects with many different kinds of people. Because of this, I have grown a healthy professional network that includes other designers, programmers, marketing experts and artists that can help with or consult on any sort of project that comes up. My experience on such a variety of work has given me the perspective that all creative projects are simply people solving solutions together. It's that simple even when the problems are complex.
